Invisible Burdens is an ongoing art collection by Charlotte Massey that aims to promote empathy and understanding about commonly misunderstood ailments. Just because a burden isn't visible, doesn't mean it isn't real.
The collection is a series of conceptual portraits showing visually how invisible burdens feel. Each piece has a title, a quote from a someone who has experienced it, and then a visual interpretation of the description.
Volunteers in the community serve as models and all submissions are completely anonymous. Sharing your burden can help others understand and provide support for those carrying the same burden.
No burden is too big or too small to share.
